<p>Actor Rashmika Mandanna feels her debut project ‘Kirik Party’ is truly special because it taught her what goes on behind the camera, the basics of acting and in many ways gave her an insight into the nuances of filmmaking itself. <br /><br />The actor will soon be seen opposite Puneeth Rajkumar in ‘Anjani Putra’ and opposite Ganesh in ‘Chamak’.<br /><br />She also has a Telugu project in her kitty. However, Rashmika says she would only like to take up projects that she can do full justice to.<br /><br />In an interview with Nina C George, she talks about her future plans.<br /><br /><br />What’s your role in ‘Anjani Putra’?<br /><br />I play a lively girl by the name of Geetha. She has been brought up in a protected atmosphere and has no clue about the real world. But she is popular because she spreads joy and happiness around her.<br /><br /><br />How different is this project from ‘Kirik Party’?<br /><br />The two can’t be compared. ‘Kirik Party’ was my debut project and it made me understand what went into making a film. I worked very hard to perfect my dialogues, expressions and put life into my character. In ‘Anjani Putra’, I go one step ahead because I have very lengthy dialogues and don’t have time to stand and stare.<br /><br /><br />How is it acting with Puneeth?<br /><br />Puneeth is a born actor because when you see him work, you don’t really feel that he is making a lot of effort. The dialogues, action sequences and dance steps come naturally to him. It’s amazing to watch him work.<br /><br /><br />How has Puneeth helped strengthen your character?<br /><br />Puneeth is more than happy to assist me with any help that I may need with the dialogues and gives me the confidence to get under the skin of the character. He tells me that I should imagine the character before I act it out. This advice helped a lot.<br /><br /><br />What’s your character in ‘Chamak’ like?<br /><br />I play Ganesh’s wife in the movie. The story traces the life of a young, married couple living in a city. It explores the problems and situations associated with today’s generation.<br /><br /><br />You are now acting with some of the biggest names in the Kannada film industry. Does that put you under a lot of pressure?<br /><br />I did face a little pressure in the beginning. But it is only when I started working with big stars, did I realise that they too are human and are always willing to help. I also found them to be very shy people.<br /><br /><br />You have your hands full with work. Do you find time for yourself?<br /><br />I have no complaints because I really like to be busy with work. I tend to think a lot when I am sitting idle. Work takes my mind off unnecessary thoughts. <br /><br /><br />Any lessons learnt so far?<br /><br />The restless person in me has given way to a more patient one. I have learnt to calm down.<br /><br /><br />Do you think it is necessary to be popular to be successful?<br /><br />Not everybody who is popular is successful. Those who have found success in doing small things have also become popular.<br /><br /> </p>
