<p>Film actor and director Huccha Venkat said that he will contest the upcoming Assembly elections from Rajarajeshwari Nagar, Bengaluru as an independent candidate.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Addressing reporters here on Wednesday, Venkat said that he selected Rajarajeshwari Nagar as it is the place where he was born and brought up. His father and grandfather worked here and thus he is particular about making his contribution to the constituency, he said.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Venkat said that he would rather prefer losing than winning by unethical means. He said he is quite sure about what needs to be done for the good of the constituency.</p>.<h4 class="CrossHead">'Can become PM'</h4>.<p class="bodytext">Venkat said that if he does not succeed in the Assembly elections, he will try his hand in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. If however, he succeeds in the general elections in 2019, he could also make it to the post of Prime Minister, he said.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Venkat criticised the mentality of politicians who turn to rural areas for votes but neglect the villagers completely after coming to power. "Political leaders have been emotionally blackmailing people. None of the assurances of politicians has benefitted the villagers in a real way. People should not 'sell' their votes," he said.</p>.<p class="bodytext">He clarified that though he was keen on forming 'Huccha Venkat' political party, he could not do the same due to his busy schedule. "I will be sure of my election symbol shortly but will not become a member of any other political party," he said.</p>
