<p>Siddanna Malge, the husband of Bakamma, had died after consuming pesticide due to his inability to repay debts taken from private money lenders.<br /><br />Vijay is on a three-day visit to the city for the song picturisation of his forthcoming film ‘Jarasandha’. The film, directed by Shashank, has Praneeta as Vijay’s co-actor. <br /><br />Vijay told reporters that after coming to know about the increased number of debt-ridden farmers committing suicide in the region, he decided to help one such family.<br /><br />The actor said that he too was the son of a farmer and had experienced first hand the hardships faced by such families. He said, under no circumstances, should farmers take the extreme step of taking their life and must face adverse situations bravely. <br /><br />The agriculture department had recommended the Malge family for the assistance provide by the actor. Both Praneeta and Shashank, along with agriculture department officials, were present when Vijay handed over the money to Bakamma.</p>
