Malayalam film actor Jagathy Sreekumar, who underwent an emergency surgery after being seriously injured in a road accident, is in stable condition and has been responding to the treatment, doctors said on Sunday.
“The condition of Sreekumar is stable. He is holding on and responding to medicines well and that is a good sign,” Dr Abdulla Cheriakkat, MD of Malabar Institute of Medical Sciences, told reporters. However, the 61-year-old actor, who suffered multiple injuries in chest, abdomen, legs, would continue to remain on ventilator for another 48 hours, he said.
Sreekumar, who has acted in over 1,000 films met with an accident when he was going to Kodagu in Karnataka for the shooting of a new movie when his car rammed into the road median.
