<p>Three seamen were reportedly trapped and missing while one was rescued after a fire broke out in offshore supply vessel Greatship Rohini off the Mumbai shore in the Arabian Sea on Saturday.</p>.<p>The fire broke out in the OSV, nearly 92 nautical miles off a platform of Mumbai High, according to the Indian Coast Guard (ICG).</p>.<p>On receipt of the information, Coast Guard Operation Centre diverted offshore patrol vessel Samarth to the scene of action.</p>.<p>Simultaneously, a Dornier aircraft was launched for the assessment of the situation.</p>.<p>The Coast Guard ship reached the area at 1330 hrs and took over as on-scene coordinator - MV Albatross-5 operating in the vicinity, tied up a hawser from the forecastle of Greatship Rohini and pulled it out to a safe location from the NQO platform rig. </p>.<p>Indian Coast Guard Ship Samarth, with its advanced external fire-fighting system in coordination with OSV Priya 27, established boundary cooling for controlling the spread of fire.</p>.<p>Due to excessive heat and smoke, the crew of Greatship Rohini was unable to enter the engine room, where the fire started. </p>.<div>“A team from ICG Ship Samarth has boarded the vessel for further assessment. The fire fighting operation is still underway and being coordinated by ICGS Samarth. Meanwhile, a pollution control vessel has also been sent to the scene of action by the Indian Coast Guard to augment the efforts,” officials said.</div>
