AP: Children fall sick due to chlorine gas leakage at swimming pool academy in Vijayawada

Children fell sick after an incident of chlorine gas leakage occurred in a swimming pool academy at Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh on December 8.

Gas leakage happened due to old equipment at the academy and the students were rushed to the hospital. “Due to leakage of chlorine gas in the swimming pool, 10-12 students aged between 8-14 years fell ill and were sent to the hospital.

The gas leakage happened due to old equipment and old gas cylinder. It was controlled later. All students are stable now,” said the swimming pool academy supervisor.
