<p>The BJP on Monday constituted a team of five women MPs to look at allegations of violence against women in the West Bengal panchayat polls. Rajya Sabha MP Saroj Pandey is heading the team while Sheohar MP Rama Devi, Bhubaneshwar MP Aparajita Sarangi, Rajya Sabha MP Kavita Patidar and Bhind MP Sandhya Rai are members of the team. </p>.<p>“BJP National President J P Nadda has constituted an inquiry committee of women MPs of the party to investigate the widespread violence and atrocities on women in the panchayat elections in West Bengal,” the party said in a release sent out by general secretary Arun Singh.</p>.<p><strong>Also Read |</strong> <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/national/east-and-northeast/trinamool-activists-allegedly-urinate-on-injured-bjp-worker-in-bengal-1237264.html"><strong>Trinamool activists allegedly urinate on injured BJP worker in Bengal</strong></a></p>.<p>The team will visit the affected areas of the state, and speak to some of the women victims about the violence that took place during the panchayat polls. </p>.<p>This is the second team that the party has formed to look at the violence in the state; the party had formed another team of Parliamentarians headed by Patna Sahib MP Ravi Shankar Prasad, whose team had been tasked with visiting affected areas. </p>.<p>“We will visit all the affected areas, meet those who are tortured. Why should more than 40 people lose their lives in the gram panchayat election? We will visit and submit our report to the President,” Prasad had said. The team has till now visited the affected in Cooch Behar.</p>
