Come Diwali, MTV will be more than just music

Come October 17 and the  channel will complete the repositioning it kicked off two years ago.

“Dropping the ‘Music Television’ from under the logo is a big symbolic statement. MTV is about new ideas, new formats...,” MTV India Senior Vice President Ashish Patil said. MTV’s new image will have a new graphics environment that aims to engage viewers through RSS feeds, mobile contests, scrolls, scraps and pop ups.

MTV will launch a new show called ‘Rant’ or ‘Rambling About Nothing Today’ that will have an analysis on latest issues in the media. ‘MTV What The Hack’, will feature Internet whizkid Ankit Fadia teaching tricks on how to be safe in the virtual world.
