Gunbattle on between militants and security forces

Acting on a specific information about presence of militants, security forces cordoned a forest area in Kulgam, 70 kms from here, this afternoon, the spokesman said.

The militants hiding in the area opened fire following which the security forces retaliated, he said.

The gunfight between the two sides was going on when reports were last came in.
There was no immediate report of any casualty on the either side, the spokesman said.
