<p>In order to empower women with shielding techniques, Indian Army (Assam Rifles) conducted a self-defense training programme for young women and girls in the Ganderbal district, J&K on the eve of International Women’s Day. </p>.<p>The training programme was held to address women’s fears and to instill in them the belief that they are mentally and physically strong enough to defend themselves against all odds. This Self-Defence Techniques Training Workshop for Govt. </p>.<p>Degree College Girls was held in Kangan, Ganderbal district. The Assam Rifles battalion's riflewomen taught the art of self-defense. This workshop was attended by 40 female college students. </p>.<p>The girls were taught some important self-defense techniques that involve the use of everyday objects such as pencils, water bottles, and bags for self-defense. The girls praised the initiative and thanked the Army's 34 Assam Rifles.</p>
