<p>Union Home Secretary Gopal K Pillai said he has spoken to Chief Secretary Ranganath S V and Director General of Police Ajai Kumar Singh and both of them have assured him that they were well in control of the situation in Karnataka.<br /><br />"Both of them have assured me that they are well in control of the situation. They made adequate arrangements to ensure that law and order is completely under control," he told reporters here.<br /><br />BJP held protests all over the state denouncing the Governor's action and demanded recall of Bhardwaj.<br /><br />Stone-pelting on shops and buses were reported from places such as Belgaum, Gulbarga, Shimoga and Bangalore.<br /><br />Two state-owned buses were set on fire at Honnali in Davanagere district last night and a private bus was torched in Bangalore.<br /><br />In view of a bandh today, elaborate security arrangements have been made, with heavy deployment of police forces in and around Bangalore.<br /><br />Around 200 people in Bangalore have been taken into custody. Prohibitory orders have been promulgated in various places, including Bangalore, as a precautionary measure.</p>
