<p>Mandya district administration has planned to make Srirangapatna Dasara a grand affair this year. It starts on Tuesday.</p>.<p>For the first time, it has planned 3D mapping and special illumination of Krishnaraja Sagar (KRS) dam and Brindavan Gardens at a cost of Rs 2 crore, as part of Dasara celebrations.</p>.<p>All arrangements have been completed and the whole area is illuminated to attract more tourists.</p>.<p>The Cauvery Neeravari Nigam is organising the 3D mapping, which will showcase the history of the dam, right from construction, architecture and how it benefits the people.</p>.<p>Speaking to <span class="italic">DH</span>, Cauvery Neeravari Nigam Executive Engineer Basavarajegowda said, special efforts are being made to explain to visitors about the history and importance of the dam, using light, sound and 3D mapping.</p>.<p>“The mapping, cultural programmes and special illumination will be held for 10 days from October 16. While the programmes will be held from 6 pm to 8 pm on week days, it will be up to 9 pm on weekends and holidays.</p>.<p>The cultural programmes will be held near the Cauvery statue and several television artistes will participate,” he said.</p>.<p class="CrossHead">Dasara procession</p>.<p>Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy will inaugurate the Jamboo Savari, held as part of Srirangapatna Dasara, at Kiranguru Bannimantap, at 2.30 pm, on Tuesday.</p>.<p>Dasara elephants Abhimanyu, Kaveri and Varalakshmi will take part in the procession, accompanied by folk troupes. District in-charge minister C S Puttaraju and MLAs of the district will attend the event.</p>.<p>Film director T S Nagabharana will inaugurate the cultural programmes at 6.30 pm on the grounds opposite Sri Ranganthaswamy temple.</p>
