<p>Dakshina Kannada, Yadgir, Haveri, and Gadag districts from Karnataka have been selected for the Central government's Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao Yojana.</p>.<p>M L Vaishali, the additional deputy commissioner, Dakshina Kannada district, chaired a high-level meeting on children's rights on Saturday and said: "The four districts have been selected based on a severe gap in gender ratio." </p>.<p>"As per 2001 census, there were 1,022 women for every 1,000 men in Dakshina Kannada district. The census in 2011 indicates a dip in the number of women for every 1,000 men, besides the number of girls aged six years and below, she said.</p>.<p>"Special task force has been formed for the project which will implement special programmes for the implementation of women rights," she said.</p>
