<p>In accordance with the Union Health Ministry guidelines, many patients who tested positive have opted for home-quarantine.<br /><br />As many as 55 suspected cases visited Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Chest Diseases (RGICD) and 32 swabs were collected and sent to Nimhans Lab. <br /><br />At present, RGICD has just one suspected and one confirmed cases admitted in its swine flu isolation ward.<br /><br />A 40-year-old patient, who was suffering from pneumonia, was shifted from Wockhardt Hospital to RGICD on Saturday. <br /><br />But he was shifted back to Wockhardt. RGICD Director Dr Shashidhar Buggi said the patient suffered from health complications and had bi-lateral pneumonia. <br /><br />The patient’s first throat swab was sent to the National Institute of Virology (NIV), Pune, and also to the Nimhans Lab. <br /><br />The NIV report tested negative and the Nimhans result was still expected. <br /><br />The patient, who was reported to have had cough and recurrent fever, was admitted to the ICU at Wockhardt.<br /><br />Lakeside Hospital had no new admissions on Sunday. However, out of the nine positive patients admitted on Saturday, one person tested negative and is being administered preventive medicine. Dr Raviraj, Resident Medical Officer at the hospital, said that at present, the hospital was treating nine patients out of the seven beds reserved for H1N1 flu affected persons. Even Victoria Hospital admitted one suspected H1N1 case on Sunday. The 39-year-old patient arrived from Australia on Saturday evening and developed flu-like symptoms like fever and cold the next day. Apart from this patient, a 26-year-old man from Dubai also was admitted on Saturday. Ten throat swabs of voluntary patients were collected and sent to NIMHANS. According to hospital authorities, samples of admitted patients will be given priority than voluntary patients. <br /><br />Many private hospitals, which are now admitting H1N1 patients, are not disclosing details of H1N1 patients due their respective policies. However, the Joint Director of Communicable Diseases said that there were patients admitted at Mallya Hospital, Apollo, Columbia Asia and St John’s Hospital. <br /></p>
