<p>Noted Sandalwood actor Dhananjay has proved to be different from others by choosing not to celebrate his birthday and donating the money collected from his fans to the Deccan Herald-Prajavani Kerala-Karnataka Relief Trust. Dhananjay on Saturday contributed Rs 50,000 collected from his fans’ associations across the state to the Trust.</p>.<p class="bodytext"> “A day prior to my birthday (Aug 23) I had appealed to my fans on Twitter that rather than spending on flower and cake, the money can be pooled in to help flood victims in Kodagu. I had put up the same video on other social platforms. In fact, along with my friends, I had arranged for a donation box and all the contributions from the fans were dropped into the box,” Dhananjay told <span class="italic">DH</span>.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Adding his bit to the pooled in money of Rs 12,740, Dhananjay handed over a cheque to Deccan Herald-Prajavani Relief Trust.</p>.<p class="bodytext">In fact, he sought donations from those who came for selfies with him. “It was not mandatory and those who were interested donated money. I am happy with it. In case if the need arises I am ready to chip in any manner to help the victims rebuild their lives,” he said. Meanwhile, speaking to reporters in Madikeri, Karnataka Government Employees’ Association state president<br />H K Ramu said that that the association has contributed Rs 102 crore to the chief minister’s relief fund.</p>
