<p class="title">Hinting that senior Congress leader and actor M H Ambareesh might quit the Congress party, JD(S) state president H D Kumaraswamy on Sunday said that the actor would publicly announce his decision in a couple of days.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Ambareesh, the Mandya MLA, rejected the Congress party ticket on the last day of filing nomination.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The actor, who recently announced retirement from electoral politics, had met Kumaraswamy at the latter’s residence in Bengaluru on Saturday night. </p>.<p class="bodytext">Addressing a rally at Goruru on Sunday Kumaraswamy said: “Ambareesh wants the JD(S) to come to power. He has analysed the political situation across the state and will publicly announce his decision in a couple of days.”</p>.<p class="bodytext">“Siddaramaiah has been talking very lightly of Ambareesh. If Ambareesh had not extended cooperation to Siddaramaiah during the Chamundeshwari by-election in 2006, the latter would have lost by a huge margin of 10,000 votes.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Ambareesh was upset when Siddaramaiah unceremoniously dropped him from the cabinet,” he added.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The former chief minister expressed anger over film actors participating in election campaigns in favour of the Congress and the BJP candidates.</p>.<p class="bodytext">“I have no objection over film actors involving in canvassing. But actors have to identify themselves with a particular party and work for its victory.</p>.<p class="bodytext">“Instead, they seek votes favouring candidates of different parties at different constituencies. They are making this a business. Hence, voters should be not be carried away by their presence,” he advised.</p>
