<p>A 47-year-old man and his associate have been arrested for stealing valuables from swimmers at the Vijayanagar swimming pool.</p>.<p class="bodytext">According to the police, the duo committed the crimes with the help of two juveniles, who have also been detained and sent to the state-run remand home.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The suspects have been identified as Abrar R (46), a resident of Hosahalli, and Parvez S (19), a resident of Haleguddadahalli. Parvez and the two juveniles were friends of Abrar’s son, and the arrests were made on Monday, the police said.</p>.<p class="bodytext">According to the police, the gang of four observed the movements of the swimmers, as to where they kept their dresses, purses, mobiles and other valuables before engaging in swimming. When everyone would get busy in the water, they would make away with the valuables, while the juveniles would get into the pool and swim for a while, the police said.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Nearly a month ago, two youths who lost their mobile phones at the pool lodged a complaint with the Vijayanagar police.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The police found that the gang operated on the pool premise pretending to be swimmers.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The police have taken the duo into custody and are recovering the stolen properties.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Further investigations are under way.</p>
