<p>Commuters riding through the Rajarajeshwari Nagar arch will no longer experience frustrating traffic jams, as the BBMP builds a 40 feet road adjacent to the arch.</p>.<p>Speaking to DH, Manju, husband of Rajarajeshwari Nagar (ward no 160) corporator Nalini Manju, said the road work is going on at a brisk pace and the new thoroughfare will be ready in a month's time. "This will definitely bring down the traffic menace at the junction and ensure smooth vehicular movement both ways," he said.</p>.<p>"We bought the 40 feet of land belonging to the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewage Board (BWSSB) to lay the road," Manju added. A sewage treatment plant (STP) is functioning on the land.</p>.<p>Commuters will have a free left turn into the newly built road from Mysuru Road to enter Rajarajeshwari Nagar. "The old and new road put together will be a 100 feet road. We'll also be increasing the width of the Vrushabhavathi bridge, where the new road would connect. Once the new road is ready, vehicles can only exit through the arch and can't enter," Manju said.</p>
