The venture is the brainchild of Megha Balanadu and Amita Ashok who came up with the idea of starting a clothing line over fruit beer and cheese sandwiches on a fine summer evening. They realised that they had common goals, similar tastes and most importantly, complementary skills. <br /><br /> Once they decided to start a clothing line, they wanted a name that was short and catchy, and finally came up with ‘Ketchupp’, which thought was easy to remember and would be acceptable by all. Though barely four-months-old, this start-up has received positive feedback and appreciation from its customers. The duo focusses on offering exclusive elegant and elite western clothes at a reasonable price, ranging from everyday wear to evening and party outfits. <br /><br />“This kills the worry of bumping into someone else wearing the same dress the minute you walk out of a store,” says Megha. The fabrics used by Ketchupp clothing are mostly imported and are georgette, linen, crape, cotton and silk. <br /><br />“We look into filling the gap between a petite-size woman and a plus-size woman, and it is appreciated by women who are 35 and above. It is always great to hear positive feedback about your work that is just a few-months-old. We love experimenting with different designs,” says Megha. <br /><br /></p>
