<p>The City schools have been on a high alert in the wake of dengue outbreak. Some schools have issued instructions to parents to observe for symptoms of the fever in their children and accordingly take precautionary measures.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Gangotri International Public School, Sunkadakatte, in its circular, has asked the parents not to send their children to school if he/she has cold, cough or fever. <br /><br />The school has also advised the parents to get the child tested for dengue symptoms. <br />Advisory issued<br /><br />Bhavana M, a parent whose child studies in the school said: “This is a good advice. If my child is ill, I would not want other children to get the virus and the same applies to other parents. The school has issued the circular as an advisory. It shows that the school is concerned about our children.” <br /><br />Vidya Sanskar International Public School, Machohalli, has orally asked its parents not to send their wards to schools if they fell ill or suffered from cold and cough.<br /><br />“During a recent parent-teacher meeting, we were advised not to send children to school if he or she is ill for more than three days with cold, cough and fever. In case the symptoms persist beyond five days, the school authorities further advised us to get medical tests done immediately,” said Vidya T, a parent of a child studying in the school. <br />Similarly, parents and teachers of Vani Education Centre in Basaveshwaranagar and Embassy Public School, Magadi Road ,have been asked <br /><br />to keep a close watch on the children, especially those in montessori sections, where children are most vulnerable. Standard protocolThere are schools like DPS, North which have a standard protocol while handling any ailments or sickness. <br /><br />“We have periodic follow-ups and updates from our doctor on the health of our children.
