<p>Reiterating its stance of opposing the proposed steel flyover project, the state BJP on Wednesday said the party would launch massive protests if the government goes ahead with the project.</p>.<p>Speaking to reporters here, former minister and BJP leader Katta Subramanya Naidu said if the government was serious about easing the traffic situation, then it must consider the alternative proposal the previous BJP government had mooted.</p>.<p>He said the BJP government had proposed a low-cost environment-friendly flyover and that a blueprint was also prepared. However, the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) and Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) had refused to consider the proposal.</p>.<p>The government should instead implement the alternative proposal, he said.</p>.<p>Naidu charged that the government was determined to implement the controversial project as it had made a commitment to a private agency.</p>
