<p>The Department of Primary and Secondary Education has suspended the deputy director of public instruction, Bengaluru North, on the directions of Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy.</p>.<p class="bodytext">These directions were issued on Thursday as part of the Janatha Darshan, when the chief minister heard complaints of the aggrieved.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Abdul Wajid Kazi, a parent of a student seeking admissions under the RTE, made a complaint to Kumaraswamy that the DDPI had misused his powers when the Right to Education Act admission process was under way.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The chief minister also said that the DDPI did not mend his ways despite many warnings, necessitating his suspension. A departmental inquiry is pending.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Previously, another parent had accused the DDPI of not supporting the RTE quota students to get admission<br />in a private school at Kempapura.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The order, however, stated that even as the DDPI was suspended, he has been transferred to DDPI DIET (District Institute of Education and Training) Bidar,<br />where the post of a principal is vacant.</p>
