<div>Silicon City College Group of Institutions recently celebrated its annual day programme, ‘Parampara 2016, Gene, Genius, Generations… ’ at its college premises in Krishnarajapuram. The chief guests for the occasion were T S Nagabharana, a well-known film director, actor, producer and script writer, Kamaljit Singh, the regional director of Indian Council for Cultural Relations and Nagarajah Lee Hun Leong, the Vice Chancellor of VMIUC Malaysia. <br /><br />Other important guests included professors and directors from various universities. E K T Sivakumar, a professor from Anna University, H M Mukunda and H M Chandrashekar, the director and chairman of the college respectively, Ganesh, the principal of the college, Adilakshmi, the principal of Silicon City PU College and Shivagami, the Dean of Silicon City Higher Studies were some of the guests for the occasion. Pushpa, one of the professors from the college, inaugurated the occasion by lighting the lamp and unfolded the college annual magazine ‘Blossom’.<br /><br />T S Nagabharana addressed the gathering by saying that the youth, along with their curriculum and cultural activities, should also cultivate ethics. He said that students must work hard to reach their goal and teachers play a vital role in students’ success. He also appealed to the student community and asked them not to follow shortcuts towards success as real fruits are earned only by hard work. <br /><br />H M Chandrashekar, the Chairman of Silicon City Group of Institutions, addressed the gathering by saying that today’s generation must educate, enrich, enlighten, cultivate responsibility and always respect parents and elders. They should also build their character, culture and carry forward the idea of a nation. The event included mindblowing cultural performances. Eminent guests and academicians from various organisations and institutions, students across streams, the teaching and non-teaching fraternity and parents were present on the occasion. <br /></div>
