The top scores have gone up several notches compared to the previous year. <br /><br /><br />Girija Agarwal, a Bangalore student who had topped the CET in medical stream, has topped ComedK test too, with a score of 178 out of 180. <br /><br />The second rank holder, Aditya Agarwal from Palanpur, Gujarat, has a score of 176. The third rank has been bagged by Shivani Vasisht, from New Delhi, with a score of 173. <br /><br />Rank comparison<br /><br />As many as 19 students have a score of more than 170, while more than 300 have scored 160 and more in medical, according to ComedK chief executive A S Srikanth. <br /><br />In 2012, the first rank holder got 169 out of 180 and in 2013, the first rank score was 159. This time, the first rank holder has got 178. <br /><br />As a result, candidates find their ranks changed considerably compared to previous years, for similar scores. <br /><br />For instance, the last rank for which MBBS seat was given in 2013 was 2995 and the candidate had scored 114. <br /><br />High scores<br /><br />This year, the candidate who has secured 2995th rank has a score of 141 out of 180 in medical, Srikanth said.<br /><br /> “This is the first time that such a large number of students have got such high scores. We were surprised and had to cross-verify twice,” he said, adding competition was high as the number of applicants this time was high for medical. <br /><br />State students shine<br /><br />In the top 100 ranks in engineering this time, 76 are from Karnataka. <br /><br />Normally, this would not be more than 50-55, ComedK officials said. In medical, 21 ranks out of the top 100 are from Karnataka. <br /><br />According to an official release from ComedK, 23,794 candidates are eligible to participate in the seat selection for medical and dental, while 43,179 candidates are eligible for engineering. <br /><br />Eligibility<br /><br />The eligibility for seat selection process based on the exam in medical and dental is 50 per cent score in PCB, in addition to 50 per cent in English language paper (it is 40 per cent for SC/ST and OBC candidates of Karnataka). No minimum has been prescribed by ComedK for engineering courses.<br /><br />Withheld results<br /><br />Earlier, results of 59 candidates were withheld, owing to the ongoing investigation with regard to impersonation cases in the ComedK test. <br /><br />However, now, results of only 35 candidates have been withheld. <br /><br />“Officials involved in the investigation asked us to announce the results of the rest of the students as there was no evidence found against them,” Srikanth further said. <br /><br />ComedK counselling is likely to begin after June 26.</p>
