Film festival on environment

A travelling film festival focusing on the environment is coming to the city this weekend. Called All Things Living, it will take place at four locations across the city.

Started in 2020, the festival uses both online streaming platforms and in-person community screenings to shed light on climatic concerns — such as the melting glaciers and worsening droughts — across the globe. Its fifth edition is set to take place between November 22 and December 8. It will showcase 72 films.

The four locations the film festival is organising screenings and discussions in the city include Ashoka Trust For Research In Ecology And The Environment in Jakkur, Bangalore Creative Circus in Yeshwantpur, Courtyard Koota in Kengeri, and Medai in Koramangala.

The films will focus on issues such as endangered seabirds, invisible labour, and electronic waste. Some of the films set to be screened at the event are ‘Batsies’ by Liz Unger, ‘The Giants’ by Laurence Billiet and Rachael Antony, ‘Miles Away’ by Megha Acharya, ‘The Legend of Goldhorn’ by Lea Vucko, ‘Sanctuary’ by Min-cheol Wang, and ‘Once Upon a Time in a Forest’ by Virpi Suutari.
