<p>Negligence on the part of the BBMP to allot space to segregate sourced garbage at CV Raman Nagar in Mahadevapura has resulted in a mess.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike's hazardous practise of segregating garbage on the CV Raman Nagar Road has created a traffic mess.</p>.<p class="bodytext">People of Kagadasapura and CV Raman Nagar staged a peaceful protest at the garbage transfer yard on the main road, urging the Palike to solve the issue.</p>.<p class="bodytext">"Garbage trucks and vehicles of varying sizes line up along the main road every morning and this causes traffic jams. Garbage spills onto the road and makes it slippery and accident prone," said Ajith Kumar, who lives in CV Raman Nagar. </p>.<p class="bodytext">Moreover, the garbage left uncleaned on the road reeks, causing danger to children waiting for the school bus.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Residents accuse the BBMP of keeping silent, despite them writing several letters.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Chandrani Sarangi, a resident, said the BBMP did some patchy cleaning on the day of the protest as a temporary measure. "Earlier, they cleaned for two weeks and stopped and let the garbage pile up again. They'd do the same once again," she said.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Ward corporator Aruna Ravi says waste transfer and segregation happens the same way in other wards as well.</p>.<p class="bodytext">"We have not been given a separate space for the activity," she said. "Earlier, the garbage transfer yard was in the buffer zone of the Kagadasapura Lake, but we didn't continue dumping it there since it amounts to violation of the National Green Tribunal rules. We have nowhere else to go." </p>.<p class="bodytext">Aruna said a decision on the issue will be taken after consultations with the mayor.</p>
