<p>Touching a live wire while hanging her washed clothes, a woman, Lavanya (26), was electrocuted on Friday night.</p>.<p>Her husband Veeranna (31), who rushed to free her, also died of electrocution.</p>.<p>The police said the couple hailed from Tamil Nadu and came to the city a few years ago. They lived in ITI Colony in Bandepalaya. They baked and prepared snacks, which they distributed to bakeries and local shops. They are survived by a son and a daughter.</p>.<p>Around 10 pm on Friday, Lavanya washed clothes and hung them out. A live wire strung to a nearby electric poll snapped and fell on the cable on which the woman was hanging the clothes. She died instantly.</p>.<p>Investigation revealed that one of their children was at the grandmother's house, while the other was fast asleep when the incident happened. A neighbour heard the screams and called the police, who extricated the bodies and sent them for postmortem.</p>
