<p>Admitting a Public Interest Litigation filed by environmentalists and Hasiru Usiru questioning the government’s decision to allot 1135.18 acres of land inside Lalbagh, a division bench headed by Justice N K Patil directed the government to submit to clarify its stand by an affidavit. The court ordered notices to the government, BMRCL and other respondents in the case.<br />The government had allotted this land to BMRCL in February, even though this space was not mentioned in the Master Plan-2015, the petitioners alleged. Hearing has been adjourned.<br />Meanwhile, BMRCL has submitted an affidavit to the Court on felling trees on RV road. According to the affidavit, 128 trees and branches of 2002 trees have been cut. The affidavit also states that out of the 234 acres in Lalbagh, only 12 guntas of land is being used.</p>
