Advocate B V Puttegowda had filed a PIL, asking the idol to be installed next to Kittur Chennamma’s statue near Town Hall, as the present location would block the view of Kittur Chennamma’s idol. <br /><br />BBMP’s counsel told the Court that it had already sought the consent of the State government to change the location and once the consent was given, the Palike would look for appropriate place to install it.<br /><br />The petitioners had contended that the BBMP had disregarded its earlier decision to install the statue in the park next to Kittur Chenamma’s statue and chose a place that would block Chenamma statue’s view.
