<p>Four staffers of Hotel Lalit Ashok have been booked for cheating, criminal breach of trust and misappropriating Rs 30.5 lakh.</p>.<p>Following a complaint filed by Bhaskaran T, general manager of the hotel, the police registered an FIR against Kiran Nagaraj, Kranti Kumar, Arun and Ravi.</p>.<p>All the four worked in the accounts section of the hotel’s loyalty department.</p>.<p>According to Bhaskaran, the hotel had offered loyalty membership to patrons for a fee of Rs 12,980. The suspects collected the membership amount in cash and cheques from the guests between January 2017 and April 2018. But, instead of depositing it in the hotel’s account, they misused it. The misappropriation came to light during an audit and they were asked for an explanation. During the examination, they confessed to the crime, the police said.</p>.<p>One of the accused, Nagaraj, had submitted a cheque of Rs 15 lakh to the hotel management for misusing the funds. However, there was insufficient funds in his account, the complaint stated.</p>.<p>The High Grounds police are investigating the case.</p>
