<p>Known for her works in Bollywood and the south Indian cinema, actor Madhoo Shah is back as the female lead in the latest Jaggesh-starrer.<br />She is lauded for her performances in movies ‘Phool Aur Kaante’, ‘Roja’, ‘Gentlemen’, ‘Ranna’, ‘Allari Priyudu’, ‘Yodha’ and many more.</p>.<p>Madhoo talks about her career, cinema and more in an interview with Metrolife.</p>.<p class="Question"><strong>You hail from a family of actors. Do you think it influenced your decision of getting into acting?</strong><br />Yes, it did. I knew that I was going to be an actor when I was a little girl. Having said that, my journey has not been easy. I always had a feeling that I was not worthy of my dream. But as God wanted it, someone recognised my talent. Though I was given many opportunities intially,I did not hit off to a good start. I was rejected a couple of times. I then decided to prove it to the world that I can be an actress. Once I was done with my studies, I looked out for more opportunities and that is when ‘Roja’ happened. Since then, there has been no looking back.</p>.<p class="Question"><strong>Your thoughts on ‘Premiere Padmini’?</strong><br />It is a kind of film that needs to be celebrated. Produced by Shruti Naidu, I am very proud to be a part of it.The movie narrates a matured love story. Unlike other films, the love life of middle-aged people is celebrated in ‘Premier Padmini’. Though there are youngsters, Sudharani and I have been given prominence.</p>.<p class="Question"><strong>Do you think Indian Cinema is changing now?</strong><br />Yes,it is. With a lot of platforms being available now, the old cliche films are being knocked out of the park. With all genres of films being encouraged, we can see how the entire<br />perspective of Indian cinema is changing. Our movies are the reflection of society and vice-versa.</p>.<p class="Question"><strong>Tell us about your upcoming projects.</strong><br />At present, I am working on ‘College Kumar’, a multilingual film. There are many other projects lined up.</p>.<p class="Question"><strong>Tell us about your connection with Bengaluru.</strong><br />Bengaluru is a lovely city. After my comeback, Kannada industry has given me a number of opportunities. The weather, the people... everything about the city fascinates me. Though I live in Mumbai, I am always a south Indian at heart.</p>.<p class="Question"><strong>Advise to young actors</strong><br />You live only one life, so live it the way you want. What is bound to happen will happen. Keep your spirits high, do your bit and enjoy your life. If we talk about acting, criticism is inevitable. People will be behind you at every step.With so many platforms around, showcasing your talent has become easy these days. So, have a dream and work towards it.</p>
