The huge Indian fan following made the DJ pay his third visit to India to perform at the Sunburn Arena, recently held in the city. <br /><br />In a conversation with Metrolife, the 46-year-old musician shows his interest in collaborating with Indian musicians and mixing for Bollywood numbers. <br />Excerpts: <br /><br />How has India treated you? <br />It’s always a great experience here. India is a very warm country and I love the hospitality, I receive every time <br />I’m here. <br /><br />How do you see dance music scene in India? <br />All of India has become a huge destination for dance music. It’s so exciting to see what’s happening in India. It’s always such a great affirmation to see scenes all around the world get stronger and stronger. It shows how powerful this <br />music is!<br /><br />Would you like to <br />collaborate with an Indian musician? <br />Yes! I am always open to <br />working with different <br />artistes but I don’t have anything planned with an Indian artiste right now. And definitely if I’m lucky enough to mix some Bollywood music, I would love to do it.<br /><br />You’ve worked with many big names. Is there anyone else on your wish list? <br />There are always new artistes that inspire me. I recently remixed a track for Muse band, but would love to do something original with them. I’m very impressed with artistes like Dzeko and Torres, MOTi and KSHMR. They’ve been producing a lot of tremendous music.<br /><br />How different are the <br />present DJs from the DJs of your time?<br />EDM used to be a term for all of electronic dance music, <br />but now it just means all the music that you’re not supposed to play. It became the new trance. It got popular, so now we’re all into deep house. And soon we’ll be over that. You can’t win. I wish we could have just stuck with EDM, honestly, because we finally had a term that captured everything in one big family, like jazz. But no, we had<br /> to be hip.<br /><br />Do you think there’s any <br />difference between pop <br />music and dance music <br />anymore?<br />The DJ scene is getting bigger and more competitive. <br />There are a lot of DJs with originality and creativity. <br />Pop and dance will always have distinct identities of <br />their own!<br /><br />Who inspires you? <br />Martin Garrix really inspires me. I feel he is blessed with talent at a very tender age and I love fresh new talent. Also, my fans. The joy on their faces makes me want to improvise every second.<br /><br />What are your travel <br />essentials? <br />Just my laptop.<br /><br />What do you do to unwind? <br />I love the madness. The crowd excite me. The euphoria <br />eases me. <br /><br />Your mantra for life? <br />Live. Love. Dance.<br /><br />What’s next ? <br />I’ve got lots of records coming out in 2016. Some that are really underground, some that are a little more crossover (like Red Lights) and I can’t wait for my Indian fans to get to hear these new tracks. <br /></p>
