<p>The Indian Institute of Fashion Technology (IIFT) here celebrated its Founder's Day by training the volunteers of a not-for-profit organisation in screen and stencil printing and making wall hangings. </p>.<p>As many as 70 volunteers of Sparsha Trust, Hesaraghatta, took part in the event to learn the skills of printing and involve students in social service activities. </p>.<p>Children learnt the technique of making environment-friendly art and craft. </p>.<p>"The workshop's primary aim was to satiate children's curiosity. Those interested in the subject can take up a course after completing SSLC or PUC. These skills enable one to be self-employed," Srilakshmi, an assistant professor at the IIFT, said. </p>.<p>Printing and drawing embroidery on curtains, screens, table tops and sofa covers were also demonstrated during the workshop. </p>.<p class="CrossHead">Events for social cause</p>.<p>The IIFT was founded in 2001 by the late B Vedhagiri with the aim of integrating social objectives in its growth and development. Since then, the institute has worked and conducted many events for various social causes. </p>
