<p>The first-ever 'Bangalore Design Week' is all set to unfold at multiple venues, with key showcases at the city's Jayamahal Palace from September 29 to October 6. Organised by the Association of Designers India, the Design Week will see Bengaluru leapfrog to a stage shared by the likes of Milan, Paris and New York.</p>.<p>So, what is the Design Week? The organisers call it a homage to the city’s innovative design thinking. BDW's stated objective is this: to create a meaningful interface for design professionals, both Indian and global.</p>.<p>Lined up for the event are exhibitions, conferences, a marketplace, a film festival and multiple programmes across the city. It will feature a 'Design Collage' from September 30 to October 5, a medley of multiple mini-events across the city to capture the diversity of design disciplines, professional practices, creative experiences and interests.</p>.<p>A 'Design Showcase' at Jayamahal Palace will display the best works of design professionals and studios, institutions and design-driven organisations. The event celebrates design in all its forms — visual, physical, spatial, digital and even conceptual.</p>.<p>Also on the Design Week agenda is a 'Design Sante' on September 29, a space for creators and makers. The pop-up market will come alive at Jayamahal Palace.</p>.<p>Through the week, a Design Film Fest is also planned with a tagline, 'film festival for the six senses'. Short and long films, documentaries and storytelling, animation and cinematography are all on the fest agenda. Independent filmmakers, studios, students and artists will present their films on design, the creative industry and iconic personalities.</p>
