<p>The 56th ACMM Court convicted an Iranian national and sentenced him to one-year imprisonment along with Rs 20,000 fine for illegally staying in the country.</p>.<p>Aseem Mumtaj (32) was staying in Girinagar. After the city police started tracing foreign nationals, the Girinagar police arrested Mumtaj and booked him for illegal stay.</p>.<p>Later, he was produced before the court and remanded in judicial custody. Police filed a chargesheet against him with evidence which showed that his visa had expired and he was staying illegally in the city.</p>.<p>Judge Attikal Prabhu sentenced Mumtaj to one-year simple imprisonment with Rs 20,000 fine.</p>
