Two more entrances were opened last year, one at the south leading to Chikka Lalbagh and another at northwest, connecting the old subway to the railway station.
.
About two months ago, the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) started building a stairway ramp to connect the roof of the KSRTC bus terminal 1 at Platform 4A. We can open the project to the public, but the engineers have sought about 15 days to complete the work on the shelter. Installation of lights will be done soon without causing inconvenience to people," BMRCL chief public relations officer, U A Vasanth Rao, said.
.
At present, passengers reach the metro station through the northwestern entrance after walking about 300 to 400 metres from the BMTC bus station. This involves crossing the busy road that divides the KSRTC and city bus stations. For those entering from Dhanvantri Road, the stretch is even longer.
.
The new entry will be of great help to those who want to switch from the bus to the metro as all platforms at the Majestic bus station are connected to the bridge that leads to the new entrance.
