<p>The erratic and insufficient water supply from the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board has compelled the residents of the area to depend on the borewell water. The seepage from the age-old underground lines has polluted the groundwater. Residents are complaining of skin rashes, diarrhoea and nausea for the past one week.<br /><br />"I have been complaining to BWSSB engineers for the past six months to clean the clogged pipelines, but in vain” said Ramesh, a resident. The seepage is so acute that even a recharge well constructed to harvest rainwater is now filled with sewerage water.<br /><br />The BWSSB officials on Monday conducted a spot inspection and promised a solution soon. <br /><br />“We need to identify the location of the seepage and block it to prevent contamination. Changing UGD lines has already been proposed,” an official said. Chief Engineer T Venkataraju said that only a part of the UGD lines might have been damaged due to which there is seepage in the ground water. Our engineers will thoroughly check the area for necessary repairs, he added.</p>
