<p>From January 1, Namma Metro operations will be extended by 35 minutes during the night with the last train departing the four terminal stations around 11.30 pm.</p>.<p>In a release, Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL), said the last train from Baiyappanahalli and Yelachenahalli will leave at 11.35 pm instead of 11 pm, while the train from Nagasandra will leave at 11.25 pm. The last service from the Mysore Road station is scheduled at 11.40 pm.</p>.<p>All the trains will reach Kempegowda Metro Station around 11.55 and depart from the nerve centre at 12 am. The trains will reach terminal stations at about 12.40 am.</p>.<p>From January 1, metro staffers will have a 4-hour window for maintenance of the train and the tracks as day operations will resume at 5 am, except for Sundays, the release added.</p>.<p>With this, the corporation has fulfilled a promise made last October.</p>.<p>Responding to questions by journalists, who pointed out commuters’ demand for running train till 12 am, BMRCL managing director Ajay Seth said they would take a positive decision after ensuring that the staffers have enough time for maintenance.</p>.<p>As public transport is seen as the safest mode for commuting in the night, the extension will come as a huge relief for people working late.</p>
