<p>The mud road near the Croma store in Panathur, Varthur, is undergoing some much-needed repair. Despite the obvious relief, residents are also wondering if the road will<br />be tarred.</p>.<p>“It has been in a bad condition for a long time,” Pushpalatha M, a local resident, said. “We know that tenders had been called a long time ago to build the road, but nothing actually happened on the ground.”</p>.<p>She said residents have a tough time navigating the road for the past year as the road turned slushy during the rain.</p>.<p>“Panathur residents witness several accidents here,” she said.</p>.<p>“Two-wheelers skid and riders fall down. A lot of apartments are coming up on the road, making it difficult to commute by the day. We wish to see the road asphalted.”</p>.<p>Several letters to the local corporator and the BBMP to repair the road went unanswered.</p>.<p>The road is a vital link to the IT hub in Mahadevapura like Marathahalli, Bellandur and ITPL.</p>.<p>A BBMP official said the repair work will be over in a few days. “It’s a mud road punctuated with potholes. The damage has happened due to many reasons. The road work is underway and we have filled it with more mud and expanded it a bit,” the official said, adding that the road can be used for commute in a few days.</p>.<p>The official, however, did not give information on asphalting the road.</p>
