<p>Bengaluru: The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has banned the slaughter and sale of meat in Bengaluru on September 7 (Saturday) on the occasion of the Ganesh Chaturthi festival.</p>.<p>The BBMP’s animal husbandry division issued the order on Thursday. As per the BBMP’s data, there are about 3,000 licensed meat shops and three authorised slaughterhouses in the city. </p>
