SI registers 165 cases in a single day

A sub-inspector (SI) of Cubbon Park traffic police station has registered 165 cases against motorists in a single day.

The police said that on Wednesday, Umesh Udupa, SI, along with Syed Ali and Lakshman, both constables, registered 165 cases and collected a fine of Rs 68,800.

The police were carrying out duty near Anil Kumble circle and Kasturba Road junction and registered the cases against motorists for violating traffic rules.

A senior police officer said, “We cannot confirm if it is the first time an individual has registered so many cases. But in the recent times, this has been the highest number
of cases registered in a single day.

“The SI registered various cases like jumping traffic signals, pillion rider not wearing helmet, rash and negligent driving, using of mobile phones while driving and many other violations.”
