<p>India Post on Wednesday released eight new commemorative stamps dedicated to noted musicians — Pandit Ravi Shankar, Bhimsen Joshi, D K Pattammal, Gangubai Hangal, Kumar Gandharva, Vilayat Khan, Mallikarjun Mansur and Ali Akbar Khan.<br /><br /></p>.<p>The stamps were released by Principal Secretary of the Department of Kannada and Culture Shalini Rajneesh, Chief Postmaster General (Karnataka Circle) Bangalore M S Ramanujan, Kannada and Culture Department Director K A Dayananda and Karnataka Sangeetha Nrithya Academy president Gangamma Keshavamurthy. <br /><br />The stamps will be sold at head post offices in Mangalore, Mysore and Belgaum; apart from GPO, Bangalore. It will also be available in all other head post offices in districts. A miniature sheet containing the stamps is priced at Rs 80.</p>
