<p>The winners of this event progressed to the national round of the quiz, wherein they would be representing Bangalore. <br /><br />This is the thirteenth edition of the event, which is held annually. The quiz was open to students studying in classes eight to 12, and has been conducted in twelve cities all over the country.<br /><br />A whopping 1200 students, divided into teams of two from schools all over the City, <br />participated in this zonal event. These included representatives from prominent schools like Delhi Public School, Frank Anthony Public School and National Public School, Koramangala. <br /><br />Of these participants, six teams were selected for the final round of this zone based on their performance in the written preliminary round. PSBB Learning Leadership Academy, National Public School (Koramangala), Sri Kumarans Children’s Home, Vidyaniketan (Hebbal), Frank Antony Public School and St Paul’s English School were the lucky finalists. <br />Giribalasubramaniam, more popularly known as ‘Pick Brain’, was the quiz master of the event. </p>.<p>The event had five rounds, in which each of the teams were asked IT related questions, which they had to answer in a specific time period.<br /><br /> The answers were set onto a crossword grid, which gave the teams certain clues about the alphabets in their answers. The quiz was conducted in an extremely rapid manner, testing the quickness of the students’ responses. If none of the teams were able to answer one of the questions, it was then transferred on to the audience, which mainly consisted of students from the various participating schools. Separate questions were also asked to the audience, which were answered first by a few students of Christ Junior College. This ensured that the event was an extremely interactive one.<br /><br />Arul Prakash and Prateek, from St Paul’s English School, emerged as the winners of this zone, and will now represent Bangalore at the national level of the quiz. <br /><br />Along with a winning trophy, these lucky finalists won several gifts like digital cameras and Galaxy tablets. Jeydev and Pranav K, from Frank Anthony Public School won the second prize and were awarded iPods. <br /><br />All six finalists as well as several members of the audience who answered questions correctly were also given prizes. <br /><br />The finalists were awarded their prizes by Javagal Srinath, the cricketer, and Nagaraj Ijari, vice president, Tara Consultancy Services. <br /></p>
