<p>In a joint operation, officials of the National Investigation Agency (NIA), the Intelligence Bureau (IB) and the Delhi police picked up a 25-year-old man in Ramanagaram on Sunday on suspicion that he has links with terror outfits and Maoist groups. </p>.<p class="bodytext">Muneer, a native of Jharkhand, had been on the surveillance of central agencies for a long time. Officials raided his home in Turup Lane around 8.30 pm and interrogated him for four hours before taking him into custody around 12.30 am. </p>.<p class="bodytext">Officials have seized a laptop, gelatin powder, photographs of temples and tourist places, and the map of Bengaluru from his home.</p>.<p class="bodytext"> Officials suspect Muneer was planning some kind of terror plot. Amir Khan, the landlord, told reporters that Muneer rented the house two-and-a-half-months ago.</p>.<p class="bodytext">He paid Rs 40,000 as deposit and Rs 5,000 as monthly rent.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Soon after Muneer’s arrest, his wife and two children left the house which now remains locked. </p>.<p class="bodytext">Khan said Muneer had submitted an Aadhaar card with Delhi address while renting the house. </p>.<p class="bodytext">Muneer would go around in a bicycle to sell readymade garments and was friendly<br />with neighbours, Khan<br />added.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Local police, including the Bengaluru Rural and Ramanagaram district police, are tight-lipped about the incident, saying it was an operation by central agencies. </p>.<p class="byline">DH News Service</p>
