<p>Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy on Thursday directed the Tourism department to promote tourism activities through the hotel industry.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Kumaraswamy, who held a meeting with representatives of Karnataka Pradesh Hotels and Restaurants’ Association at his home office ‘Krishna’, said that there was tremendous potential for both hotel business and tourism in the state.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Kumarswamy directed the officilas to take up tourism-based development activities in districts including Mysuru, Dharwad, Udupi-Mangaluru, Belagavi, Bidar, Kalaburagi, Shivamogga and Kodagu, which are home to many tourist, historical and religious destinations.</p>.<p class="bodytext">He asked the officials to develop tourism centred around Shivamogga by providing good roads, accommodation facilities, information centres and guides.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Kumaraswamy assured to renew licences of hotels across the state.</p>
