<p>As many as 128 pieces of art, including paintings and sculptures from across the state, are on display at Dasara Art Exhibition, organised by Fine Arts and Handicrafts Mela Sub-Committee, as part of Dasara festivities, at Suchitra Art Gallery on the premises of Kalamandira.</p>.<p>Various forms of paintings, such as abstract art, oil painting, acrylic painting, semi-abstract art, watercolour painting, still life art, creative drawing, applied art, graphic art and various types of sculptures are on display at the Dasara Art Exhibition.</p>.<p>Art lovers, who visit the exhibition are attracted towards Krishna Kale’s miniature pencil carving art. Holding a magnifier glass, they peep to see the miniature pencil carvings, placed inside a glass container. Kale’s carvings include miniature carving of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP president Amit Shah, former CM Siddaramaiah, IPS officer Ravi D Channannavar, Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Ambarish, Punith Rajkumar, freedom fighters and slices of Jamboo Savari.</p>.<p>Mysuru traditional painting art and various types of sculpture arts are the main attractions in the exhibition, which commenced on October 14. The expo will end on October 17.</p>.<p>This time, the Dasara competition on Fine Arts and Handicrafts has received 270 artworks including paintings, sculptures, graphics, photographs, traditional paintings, inlay fine arts, etc. The competition was held under professional and amateur categories.</p>.<p>International-fame photographer Krupakar, international artiste C S Krishna Shetty and Prabhu Harsooru were the juries for the competition. Speaking to <span class="italic">DH</span>, Suresh Kumar, secretary of Dasara Fine Arts and Handicrafts Mela Sub-Committee, said, “The artists from across the state have sent their art for the competition. A team of three well-known juries selected 27 artists for the award. The people who visited the art exhibition in Kalamandira have expressed happiness over the unique art and sculptures on display.”</p>.<p>Arathi Raghuveer, a resident of Vidyaranyapuram, said, “The expo has a fantastic collection of paintings, sculptures and crafts. Unique artworks are on display in the exhibition.”</p>.<p>Jaya Herale, a resident of Kuvempu Nagar, said that there are exclusive pieces of paintings in the exhibition. The committee should have displayed more paintings, she added.</p>
