<p>Addressing the reporters on Thursday, the DC said that the work will be started after taking measures to prevent gushing of rainwater into the caves. <br /><br />“The work will be completed before Dattamala Abhiyan mandatorily. A technical team will be visiting the spot in a day or two. They will look into various aspects in the cave and ascertain whether the work can be carried out or not,” he said. <br /><br />Speaking on scarcity of sand, he said that Public Works Department has stocked sand in NR Pura and Mudigere. “There is a need to frame sand policy. Action on cases and issues pertaining to sand will be taken only after the policy is framed and enforced,” he said. <br /><br />He said that there is shortage of drinking water in the city and pipelines will be connected in places where there is problem. Borewells which have been spoilt will be repaired. He said that Manikyadhara water will be tested again for purity.</p>
