<p class="title">City Municipal Council former member A S Prakash Acharya and other Congress leaders submitted a memorandum to Deputy Commissioner Charulata Somal, urging her to take measures towards the repair of the roads in the New Extension in Madikeri.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Prakash alleged that the roads are pothole-ridden.</p>.<p class="bodytext">"The movement of vehicles has become a herculean task. The CMC has deliberately neglected the particular stretch," he said.</p>.<p class="bodytext">He also opined that patchworks will not suffice and good quality work is required to ensure that the road does not wear out again.</p>.<p class="bodytext">He accused the CMC of approving only selected road works. This might result in the New Extension roads not getting a makeover for a longer period.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The leaders said that there are about five to six families near Muttappa Poojary in the extension. But, there is no enough space on the road for the movement of vehicles in the area. Therefore, space should be created by laying slabs on the drains so that the vehicles can move on the road.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The members also warned to stag protests with the help of residents, if the road is not repaired soon.</p>.<p class="bodytext">City Youth Congress president Sada Muddappa, SC unit president Mudduraju, leaders T P Nanaiah and others were present.</p>
