<p>The state government has appointed Dr K S Ravindranath, former chancellor of the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Health Sciences, as the incharge director of the Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research (SJICR). </p>.<p>The post fell vacant after Dr C N Manjunath, who served as director for 16 years, retired on Wednesday. </p><p>Dr Ravindranath also serves as a senior consultant (contract basis) for the SJICR and is a professor in the cardiology department of the institute. </p>
