<p>Higher Education Minister G T Devegowda on Tuesday ordered for the extension of the engineering admission process till August 14 for the current academic year.</p>.<p class="bodytext">In his first visit to KEA office after assuming charge, Devegowda chaired a review meeting with the senior officials.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Briefing reporters after the meeting, he said, “We will be extending the admission date for the engineering courses till August 14. This will be helpful for students to join engineering courses if they are denied medical seats.” Earlier, the KEA had fixed August 10 as the last date for the admission. </p>.<p class="bodytext">“There is a Supreme Court direction that we are not supposed to conduct any process related to engineering after August 15. This is the maximum we can do and conveyed the same to the minister. He obliged and agreed,” a senior<br />KEA official told <span class="italic">DH</span>.</p>
